Membership Class

learn what WestPark is all about

Membership classes occur several times throughout the year. These classes are a great way to learn more about West Park’s beliefs, mission, values, purpose and actions, if you are new or have been attending West Park for awhile. Attending the class is a prerequisite for church membership, but you are welcome to attend the class and explore the possibility, no commitment necessary.

Our next membership class will be at a later date.

For more information, or to sign up for the next class, contact Carole Verdun below:

Jesus said that the local church exists to make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20), and one of the important initial steps in the disciple-making process is believer’s baptism by immersion Although baptism is not required for salvation, it is commanded of all believers and is for believers only. Scripture shows that a person was baptized after personally expressing repentance over sin and faith in Christ (Acts 8:12; 16:30-33). The waters of baptism are a picture of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, and a symbol of our own death to sin and resurrection to newness of life when we become a follower of Christ (Romans 6:3-4).

Opportunities to Serve

ways to help and show love

One of the key components of who we are as a congregation involves the whole area of serving. Here are three reasons to consider serving here:

  • It’s a way to show love. Joining a ministry team is a practical way to move from words to deeds. Let’s stop just talking about doing something and take action. (1 John 3:18)

  • It’s a way to help others. Community is all about helping one another. Now is your opportunity to strengthen our community. (Philippians 2:1-4)

  • It’s a way to obey God. Not only will you build relationships and enjoy the satisfaction of a job worth doing, but more importantly, you are obeying God’s law. (Galatians 6:2)
