About James
James grew up in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Before entering pastoral ministry, he worked as a teacher and a principal - experiences that shaped his leadership and love for learning.
Prior to coming to WestPark, James was a pastor at churches in London and Sarnia, ON. At WestPark, he serves as Executive Pastor, overseeing the church’s day-to-day operations so that ministries can function smoothly and effectively. In addition, he supports the Lead Pastor, helping turn vision into practical, day-to-day realities.
James' educational background includes a BSc from St. Francis Xavier University, a BEd from Dalhousie University, an MA in Theology from Regent College, and a Doctor of Ministry from Acadia University. He has a deep passion for seeing people grow as followers of Jesus and loves to see them connect their faith with their everyday life.
Other Interests
James is married to Caroline, and they are the proud parents of three adult children. When not at work, you will often find James wandering the paths, parks and roads around the area, snapping pictures of birds. He also enjoys fountain pens, a good book, a cup of coffee, spending time with his family, and unwinding with friends—preferably with plenty of laughter. Travel is always at the top of the list too, especially if it includes new places to explore.
