Location: London, Ontario Canada

 

The Roles: The Children's Ministry Assistant would provide support various aspects of our ministries to Children ages Birth to Grade 5. We are looking for a Canadian resident who is called to carry out the mission, vision, and strategy of West Park Church among our children and families.

WestPark church began in 1961 with a group who met in a living room. Now we have a fantastic facility on a huge piece of property right in the heart of Northwest London.

About Our Children's Ministry

At WestPark we commit ourselves to families in two significant ways.

First, we commit to guiding and equipping parents with tools and resources to help them be the primary spiritual influencers in their homes.

 

Second, we commit to teaching and reinforcing God’s truths to kids through a variety of creative and relevant means. We have a volunteer leadership team who are highly committed to the children and who offer great support to the Children's Ministry and families. God has been doing great things in the lives of the children over the past many years and we are looking forward to what is ahead.

Children’s Ministry Assistant will be involved in...

Various aspects of our ministries to Children

( Birth - Grade 5 )

 

This includes:

  • Upholding the mission and vision of WestPark Church.

  • Meeting regularly with our Children’s Ministry Director to receive ministry coaching (strategy) and personal care ( shepherding ).

  • Being involved in various aspects of the Children’s Ministry.

  • Functioning as part of our ministry staff team at West Park.

  • Participating in weekly staff meetings that emphasize team building, communication, problem solving, and prayer.

  • Contributing to various church-wide initiatives.

What You Bring:

  The ideal candidate will have:

  • A deep passion and desire to work with children and families

  • Proven ability to lead and communicate effectively in both small and large groups.

  • Solid organizational and administrative skills.

  • Work experience (>2 years) in children's ministries in a local church is preferred.

  • Experience working with and managing volunteers.

Personal Characteristics:

  • Clear testimony of saving faith in Jesus Christ.

  • Authentic lifestyle demonstrating consistent character and spiritual growth.

  • Strong desire to work in a collaborative environment.

  • Exceptional leadership and relational abilities.

  • Demonstrated passion for and understanding of children and families.

  • Strong team player.

Expectations:

  • You will gather an energized and equipped ministry team to run a midweek program that loves serving families in our church and community.

  • You will provide tremendous support to the thriving Children’s ministry at West Park.

  • You will be known as a great encouragement and resource to parents as they raise their children in a world of challenges.

  • You will be considered a great ministry leader to serve under and your team will feel deeply valued and that they are making a difference.

  • You will be part of seeing children continue their faith journey through the ages and stages of growing up.

London is a Canadian city in southwestern Ontario, just north of Lake Erie and close to the U.S. border. The City is located along the 401 corridor in between Detroit and Toronto.

 

London’s population is about 500,000 people and it is growing. It's home to the University of Western Ontario. The city centre features numerous parks and greenways along the Thames River. There are many things to do in London and it is a great city to live in.
