Child Baptism

taking the next step in my faith

At WestPark we believe that baptism is a very important step in our obedience to God. We offer a special baptism class designed just for kids and their parents. We want to ensure that you and your child fully understand what is involved with being baptized.

During this interactive class, we will explain what it means to be a Christ Follower and how baptism is an act that follows that commitment. We will even take a short break in the middle of the class for families to talk about this information and process it individually.

What is baptism?

Baptism is the outward sign of an inward change. It is something God tells us to do in God’s Word, the Bible. In Acts 2:38 it says Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Baptism is the outward sign of washing with water, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. It symbolizes the cleansing from sin by the blood of Jesus Christ and about belonging to God.

This class exists as a resource to parents. We understand that being a parent is tough and we don’t always have all the answers. However, this class is designed to explain these elements of our faith and beliefs, yet still give parents an opportunity to lead their families in spiritual matters.
