Charles is the Lead Pastor at WestPark and he and his family are transplants from the country below the border. They’ve lived in London since late 2013 and love it (minus the weather in Feb/March and milk in a bag). He loves to learn and is somewhat a professional student with 4 degrees and contemplating a fifth.
Charles and his wife Sherryl have been married for 39 years and they have three adult children and 2 grandchildren he says are the cutest and smartest grandkids north or south of the border. He loves to read and he and his wife are hooked on the reality TV show Alone. He also loves the reality show The Last Alaskans about people who live off the grid. He repeatedly has asked Sherryl if she’d like to live in a cabin in Alaska or the Yukon one day. She said no.
Pastor of Worship Ministries / Young Adult Ministries
Corey has been at WestPark since July 2014, and is in
charge of setting up the Sunday morning worship services at West Park. He is so thrilled to be a part of all that God is doing in growing people to become more deeply committed worshipers.
Corey is married to Caitlyn who works at compassion Canada, and they have 2 boys Campbell and Cieran. In his spare time Corey plays golf, and hockey, and loves to read, he is also a huge movie fanatic.
Pastor of Church Life
Neil oversees a diverse portfolio which includes all adult age groups, discipleship, pastoral care and language congregations. He has been here since 2015 and is excited to see what God is doing in the lives of people. Neil loves to see people begin a brand new relationship with God, seeing them grow deeper in Christ and realize their destiny that God has given them. Neil has a Bachelor of Theology in Pastoral Ministry and has pastored in Ottawa, Toronto, England, Whitby and Woodstock in a variety of churches and ministries.
Neil loves spending his free time with his wife & kids, and loves to travel and explore new places.
Associate Pastor of Chinese Ministry
Joe has been the associate pastor of the Chinese Ministries since March 2013. His primary functions include preaching/teaching, leading, and shepherding among our growing Mandarin-speaking congregation. Joe grew up in an atheistic home in Taiwan and came to the United States for graduate studies in computer science. After a successful career in that field, God graciously saved Joe and eventually called him into vocational ministry. He received a Master of Divinity from Overseas Theological Seminary in San Jose, California in 2004, then pastored for about six years at Monterey Chinese Christian Church in California and Chinese Christian Fellowship Church in Ann Arbor Michigan.
Joe serves alongside his wife Amy, and they have a young adult son. He enjoys exercising, watching sports, and singing/listening to
Director of Youth Ministries
Bill was born at young age and grew up in a Pastor’s home. Bill’s dad was the first full time Pastor at West Park. He has been involved in Youth Ministry for over 40 years in many capacities and in many different settings both locally and internationally. Bill and his family spent a year in Bolivia South America, where Bill served as grade 7-12 Bible teacher and the school chaplain, as well as training youth worker while in Bolivia. He is always excited to see students take the next step in loving and serving Christ.
Bill and his wife have one daughter Mikayla and her husband Daniel. Bill loves short walks with his wife Linda, and attending birthday parties. When not doing either of these things he loves to travel and encounter other cultures.
Youth Ministries Administrative Coordinator
Mikayla learned at a young age what it was like to serve others when her family moved to Bolivia to work in Missions. Since growing up, she has been able to serve others with a mission group; CSI Guatemala. As well, here in Canada they as a family started an organization in honour of her Bumpa. Interesting fact; he (Douglas Dakin) was the first full time pastor of West Park, in the 1960’s.
Mikayla is excited for this new chapter of serving in Youth Ministry, seeing students grow in their faith and hopes to inspire them to serve others as well. Mikayla's middle is name - Joy, it’s a reminder to live her life, in this order - Jesus Others You!
Mikayla enjoys long walks and chats with her husband- Daniel, decorating and creating homemade healthy household products. Playing the piano to chill and landscape (pulling weeds) to de-stress. She stills enjoy hanging out with her parents, attending sporting events, especially the Blue Jays.
In addition to her role as Administrative Assistant to our Lead Pastor, Lorraine also focuses on Office Administration, supporting various ministries. Having been on staff since 2010, she is particularly excited about the direction of West Park’s ministry to our four language groups.
Since 2006, three generations of the Dykstra family have called West Park “home”. In the summer months, they enjoy relaxing and entertaining friends and extended family at their mobile home in Sauble Beach on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron. In colder weather, the family enjoys cruising and winter travels to Florida and several islands in the Caribbean - especially Jamaica!
Director of Children's Ministries and Adult Life Groups
Kimberly joined the West Park Staff in May 2012. Kimberly gives solid leadership to our KidsMin Program from birth through grade 5. She has a passion to see kids come to know and love Jesus and grow in their faith and it shows! In 2021, Kimberly took on LifeGroups at WestPark. Kimberly is passionate about providing small group environments where people can build healthy relationships and grow spiritually.
Kimberly and her husband Ryan have three amazing kids that are serving Jesus around the world. Kimberly loves to laugh, read, take long walks with her husband and host events in their home.
Children's Ministries Administrative Assistant
Julie is new to the team and is a Part-Time Children’s Ministries Administrative Assistant to our Children’s Director. She comes to WestPark with a diverse background which includes over a decade of nursing experience, along with digital marketing. She has been volunteering in Children’s Ministry for the past few years and loves seeing the enthusiasm and smiles the children bring. She is excited to see how God works in the lives of children and their families at WestPark.
Julie and her husband Camilo are blessed with three amazing children who keep them on their toes. She enjoys spending time with her family, painting, calligraphy and traveling.
Assistant Video Producer / Youth Ministries Intern
Ben joined WestPark in his current role in 2020 but did a summer internship here in 2017. He is excited to be back on the staff team! He looks after the online service production and other video projects for the church. Ben graduated from Fanshawe College’s photography program in 2019 where he had previously studied theatre arts.
Ben is a photographer, he enjoys going for walks in nature, listening to podcasts and is a movie buff. Ben also is an intern for West Park’s Youth Ministry and is either “outdoorsy” or “indoorsy” depending on the day.
Associate Pastor of Arabic Ministries
You can call him Mark - his name is Mwaffak Namourh. Mark came to Canada with his family (wife and two kids) as Syrian refugees. But, before that happened, Mark and his wife were praying that the Lord would open the door for them in Canada to serve Him. That’s why they have been here at WestPark since July (2017), because the Lord called them to pastor the Arabic congregation here. Their goal is to convey the knowledge of the glory of God through the Gospel of Christ among Arabic speakers of all backgrounds in London, Ontario.
Mark loves to spend his time reading theological books and visiting countryside places. He has a certificate of art in theology and hopes to continue his study in the future.
Pastor of Next Generation & Outreach
Kevin is very excited about his role at West Park and has been part of the church since April 2015. He oversees children/youth/young adult/family ministries as well as local and global outreach. Kevin has a Bachelor of Theology specializing in leadership and has had the privilege of serving in church ministry for 24 years including student ministries, leadership development, preaching and leading worship, as well as leading several mission trips.
In his spare time, Kevin enjoys spending family time with his wife Kylie and their five children, Kaden, Jayla and Mekhi, Caroline, and Ava. One of their favourite things to do is go fishing together, catch big fish, and brag about it on social media :)
Mikhaila came to WestPark as a Jr High student with her family. And she is the only person on staff who has been hired by WestPark 4 times! Originally as a summer intern during university, she served for 3 summers and then in 2020 returned to take on a special project, the migration of our database. Currently she is moving us forward through the management and development of this new database, making it a vital tool for all ministries.
Although Mikhaila and her husband, Alex, both grew up in London, they met at Waterloo University where she studied Psychology and Alex studied Computer Science. They returned to London in 2020 with their chihuahua, Aries, and have been married 3 years. Mikhaila enjoys crocheting and other crafts and evenings at home with family and friends for games and movie nights!
Bookkeeper /Facilities Coordinator
Jackie Shaw has been on staff since 2003. She has held several different roles and is currently the Bookkeeper and Facilities Coordinator. Her bookkeeping responsibilities include the day to day recording of financial transactions, processing donations in preparation for year-end contribution receipts, and maintaining an accurate church family database. Jackie is also responsible for the church calendar bookings and coordinating of events.
Jackie began attending West Park with her family at the age of 8. West Park has been instrumental in her life and walk with the Lord. Jackie and her husband Rob have three children (Lauren, Claire, and Noah). It brings her joy to see them grow in their faith and now serve in the ministries at West Park.
Director of Tech Ministries
Galen Trafford is our Director of Tech Ministries and has been serving at West Park Church since Spring of 2013. Galen studied Audio Engineering at The MetalWorks Institute and spent time working in corporate staging and AV sales. Galen’s position includes managing the AV needs for the church to ensure that all ministries are well equipped. He also leads the Worship Tech team for Sunday mornings and manages IT, maintaining computers, network, phones etc.
Galen is married to Andrea and has 2 sons, Grady and Brychan. He is often called an “old soul” for his appreciation for classic movies and rock n’ roll.
Associate Pastor of Spanish Ministry
Pastor Mario joined West Park in September 2015. On December 6th of the same year, the Spanish Ministry was launched. Under Pastor Mario’s leadership, the ministry has grown numerically, and spiritually. What excites him the most is the fact that WestPark has become a hub for multicultural integration, and at the same time, the opportunity to grow is endless. Pastor Mario has a Bachelor in Theology from the College of Theology in El Salvador.
Mario is married to Angelica Munguia and has two wonderful children, Angelica Belen and Mario Josue. They enjoy doing ministry together inside and outside of the church.
Director of Connection and Local Outreach
Carole’s role is director of connections and local outreach. She loves connecting newcomers into life at West Park where they can find a place to belong and grow. She is passionate about seeing WestPark church play an active role in our community as we individually and corporately live out the Great Commandment to love our neighbours as ourselves. Carole and her family have been attending West Park for 20 years and loved being part of the ‘old church’ on Royal York Rd. and the transition to the new. Carole attended the University of Waterloo, receiving an honours BA in Social Development Studies and has worked in a variety of fields encouraging, supporting and connecting children and adults.
Carole and Alex have 4 grown children and she loves spending time with them, their spouses, partners and children. In her free time, she enjoys walks, good coffee, books, exercise and family.
Graphic Communications Specialist
Stephanie is the Graphic Communications Specialist at WestPark Church. She has an Advanced Diploma from Fanshawe College in Graphic Design. Stephanie is in charge of web communications, e-news campaigns, sermon and ministry graphics among other things. She is grateful to be able to witness how God is using her skills and talents to glorify him on her faith and adult journey.
Stephanie always starts her day off with an iced coffee, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
